The Filter Sensor Accessory can be used with 1-inch in-system filters to collect pressure and temperature readings inside the system

1. Locate and remove the air filter access panel

NOTE: Access panel design varies by HVAC equipment brand. Access panels typically slide off, hinge open, or clip onto the air handler enclosure as shown in the example below.

2. Remove air filter

NOTE
This is a great time to replace your air filter.

To stock up on air filters, tap the ‘Filter’ icon in the SmartAC.com app.

3. Identify the airflow direction on the air filter

4. Push the pin through an unobstructed area of the filter in the same direction as the arrow

5. Push the pin through the filter material

6. Connect the pin to the device

a. Align the pin with the hole on the back of the device and push together to connect

b. Be sure the lower part of the device (red area marked ‘Air Sensor Intake’) is not obstructed by the cardboard support material on the air filter

7. Install the air filter (with the accessory attached) into the air handler

8. Reattach the filter access panel with the connector end of the cable extending outside

9. Attach the gray connector on the cable to the back of the Sensor

10. The light on the Sensor will flash when the accessory is connected

11. The Sensor with the cable attached can be mounted to a magnetic surface (such as the air handler enclosure) or placed on a flat surface nearby

Done! Nice Work!
